

Bobby Ray Chambers, beloved husband and father, grandfather and friend, passed away October 29th. Bobby was born in Jackson, Kentucky August 14, 1932.He was 90. He grew up in Middletown, Ohio where he graduated from Monroe–Lemon High School in 1951. He then attended Miami University in Oxford Ohio, graduating in 1955 with a degree in Finance. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. After Graduation from Miami he reported for flight training with the United States Air Force. He spent active duty in Japan from 1955-1958 as a pilot and finance officer, retiring at the rank of Capitan. He then started a very successful 38 year career as an Executive and Manager with United Motors Service which later became United Delco, AC-Delco, and then Service Parts Operations. He was a straight forward and fair minded individual, a caring mentor who always offered a smile with guidance and support, and a true friend to so many. After roles in West Virginia, Ohio and Tennessee, Marietta Georgia was where he and his wife Betty raised their family and created so many wonderful memories. They spent numerous years in Blairsville Georgia enjoying their homes on Lake Nottley and under Brasstown Bald. He is preceded in death by his parents Desi and Margaret Chambers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Betty Chambers. His daughter Kelli Mendoza (Doug), son Scott Allison Chambers (Lynn) and daughter Beth Watkins (Steven). Grandchildren Angie Goulette, Patrick Ward, Lane Mendoza, Luke Mendoza, Ali Chambers, Jackson Chambers, Josh Watkins, Bethany Watkins and John Watkins. Great grandchildren Karli Goulette, Kolbi Goulette , Kamryn Goulette and Landon Ward. He found joy in spending time with his family and loved ones. He found comfort in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. A memorial Service for family and close friends will be held November 17th at 11:45 at The Alabama National Veterans Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Following the service a celebration of life gathering will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 at 6601 Woodmere Crossing Leeds, Alabama 35094.
