Cletus Beard

Cletus Beard, Moody, Alabama, born July 25, 1945, Cletus passed away on May 12, 2025 surrounded by family members. He grew up in Cleveland, Mississippi, graduated from Delta State University and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, in Vietnam and then as a part of the civil service, ultimately serving 34 years in the Federal Government. After retirement in 2005, he moved to Moody, Alabama and became very active in community activities. He was very proud to be a resident of Moody. He was a member of several community boards, committees, and the Moody Community Presbyterian Church. Most notably, he and his wife, Rita, were active members of the Alden Glen Home Owners Association (HOA). Cletus loved Alden Glen and its residents. He served as President of the HOA for 17 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rita H. Beard, daughter's, Dana Hahn-Johnson and Katherine Beard-Petrowski as well as grandchild, Isabella Petrowski.

The family will hold a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Kilgroe Funeral Home beginning at 11:00AM. Family, friends and community members are all invited.
