Sister Doris Flossie M. Dement Eason

She is survived by her children, Randall Stokes (Donna), Regina Bowers (Earl), Tracie Bailey (Scott), Timothy Stokes (Carolyn), sisters, Kathy Coleman, Ann Rice, brothers, Charles Dement Jr., Earl Dement (Pat), grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Jessica, Christopher, Jonathan, Joshua, Caleb, Candace, Micah, Hannah, Jarrod and (5) great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Dunnavant Community Cemetery in Dunnavant, AL. Doris Marie Dement was born March 14, 1941 in Arkansas, to Charlie and Gracie Dement. They later moved to Alabama and raised their family here, their other children are Charles, Mildred Ann, Catherine(in Heaven) and Earl. Doris grew up, rising early in the mornings to a huge breakfast cooked by her Mom, Gracie, before heading out to the cotton fields to help pick cotton. She can remember as a young girl, talking to Jesus, and knowing He was real. She married Roy Stokes and had four children, Randall, Regina, Traci and Timothy. Then they divorced, and she raised her four children with God's strength. She never learned how to drive, so she had to rely on others to get her and the children to doctor's appointments and trips to the grocery stores and more. There were so many people that helped the family by driving them to the places they needed to go. Aunt Kat and Aunt Meme would help with Christmas presents for years. God made provision for every need. Doris learned to trust God in many ways that we take for granted. She always gave Glory to her Heavenly Father and always wanted to please Him. She loved God and His Son Jesus with all of her heart. When her health continued to deteriorate, we saw the Power of God resting on her. It was so amazing and inspiring to see her live each day trusting God and glorifying Him in the middle of her pain and suffering. May we be committed and dedicated to God in the hard times as she was. We love you, daughter of God, with all of our heart.
