Liz was born in Cherokee County in North Alabama, she married Charles Curtis Burleson and they had 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, after the death of Charles Curtis, she married Chalmers (Chuck) Higginbotham in May 1982 she retired from National Can and she loved traveling, working outdoors and feeding wild animals and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmers W. Higginbotham and grandchild, Shane Dingler.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Gail Puffen (Al), Sandra Lynn Bradley (David), Linda Lee Bradshaw (Gerome), sons, Charles Ronny Burleson (Debbie), Michael Wayne Burleson (Nancy), step-daughter, Susan Dunnavant, (16) grandchildren and (26) great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Hopewell Cemetery in Pinson.
