George Lee Hackney

George Lee Hackney, 91, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. He was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1933: He graduated from Arkansas University; where he lettered in Track and Field team , a member of Sigma Nu and Catholic outreach. He was inducted into the ODK Honor Society. After graduating, George joined Hallmark creating contemporary cards in Kansas City, Mo. He married his high school sweetheart Carol Roberson and they celebrated over 50 years together. George retired from Luckie Advertising in Birmingham, Alabama. He loved golf, reading ,traveling and helping others through his artwork. George was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. George was preceded in death by his wife Carol Hackney. George and Carol were blessed with three children William Scott Hackney (Nancy), Cathy Klinner, and Deanne Lee Dickerson (Dudley). He was blessed with six grandchildren Corey Phillips, Travis Klinner,Shannon Klinner, William Nathan Hackney, Dudley Robertson and Andrew Lee Dickerson. He adored his six great grandchildren Danica,Ana,Benson Phillips, Claire and Audrey Hackney and Elijah Alexander Robertson. Visitation is at 3:00PM with a funeral mass at 4:00PM. He will be buried in Springfield, Missouri where he will be reunited with his wife, parents and siblings.
