Harold was born in 1938 and grew up in Chalkville and went to Hewitt Trussville High School where he met his wife Robbie Jennings. He played baseball, football and basketball at Hewitt Trussville and signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. He was a family man and loved to take his family fishing at Lake Martin in his early years. In his later years, he took his family to Lake Guntersville where he loved to take them to dinner at Top of the River. A good life lesson that he taught his children was if they started a sport they couldn’t quit…..NO MATTER WHAT! He had a huge love for sports: he coached baseball, football and basketball. He started a youth football league called the Huffman Vikings. He took his Dizzy Dean Baseball team to the World Series 3 times and finally won it in 1986. He built a basketball team with his son, Brent, and went to the State Championship. He and Robbie were huge Alabama fans and he took her to many Alabama games in Tuscaloosa when Bear Bryant was coaching (he stayed with Aunt Catherine and his grandmother who lived right beside the stadium). "However, things began to change once their daughter and son attended college at Auburn University, they started pulling for the Tigers!"
His favorite hobbies were fishing and golfing, and one time he hit a hole in one at Grayson Valley that was over 200 yards! He had a love for music: he would take mom to concerts to see artists such as Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band and the Eagles.
Harold is survived by his wife of 64 years; Robbie Carol Kizzire, daughters; Tami McGaughy (Michael), Sheri Ward-Davis (Tommy), sons: Brent Kizzire (Ashley) and Michael Kizzire (Mikeeta), grandchildren; Cody McGaughy (McKenzie), Haley McGaughy, Mitchell Ward, Kiley Kizzire, Branson Ward, Lily Kizzire, Cage Kizzire, Ann Catherine Kizzire and great grandchild Emerson McGaughy, brothers; Alan Kizzire, Kenneth Kizzire and James Kizzire.
