Mr. Burrus was preceded in death by his son, Donald Allen Burrus and parents, William and Margie Burrus. Mr. Burrus was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Leeds and Leeds Welfare Volunteer. He worked for American Bridge and was part owner of Alabama Structural Detailers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Settle Burrus; daughter, Brenda Burrus; son, Mike Burrus; grandchildren, James Michael Burrus, Crystal Ingram; (3) great grandchildren; extended family, Pamela White; Patty Fillman and Naomi Eddings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM from First Baptist Church of Leeds with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Birmingham.
