Lt. Newton served with the Moody Police Department for over 18 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie (Pete) Murphy. Ricky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia B. Newton, daughters, Leigh Newton Wade, Gina Marie Newton, sister, Brenda Newton Reid and grandson, Aaron Wade.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Moody.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Moody with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
