Pastor E. Allen Brasher, 74 of Southside, Alabama, went home to live eternity with his Lord on January 5, 2021. Pastor Allen graduated from Leeds High School, Class of 1964. Later he became the Founding Father of the class reunions. After high school, he served the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a Mason. He worked for Southern Natural Gas until his retirement. He was such a valued employee to them because after his retirement, they kept asking him to come back. His proudest moment came on the third Sunday night in April, 1969 (April 20, 1969). He asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. From that day forward, he let the light of Jesus shine to all he met. He served The Lord in every way he could. Traveling with the Haven-Aires was a great joy because he could talk about His Lord. After being ordained a deacon, he answered the call to preach and he was then ordained a preacher. He served as the Associate Pastor at Pineview Baptist Church in Irondale, Alabama and as the Pastor at Second Baptist Church in Pell City, Alabama. He had a great love for his church family, but his greater love was for his family. He is survived by his bride, Loretta; his daughters, Wendy Kelly (Tim), Denisha Clark (Jason), April Reeves (Jamie), and bonus daughter, Loren Cooley (Adam); his son, Marty Brasher (Lana); a sister, Carolyn Haynes. He was a proud pawpaw to Sammantha, Kristin, Shonna, JJ, Candy, Siah, Damien, as well as his bonus grandchildren, Olivia, Jaxson, Micah, Lucas, Abbigale, Isabella, and Luna as well as several nieces and nephews. He was equally as proud of the great grandchildren, Willow, Evie, and Kevin. Pastor Allen joined the family that welcomed into heaven his parents, Dewey and Velma Brasher; one sister, Irene Colley; and two brothers, Billy Joe Brasher and Lawrence Brasher. Service for Pastor Allen will be on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Kilgroe Funeral Home 1750 Ashville Road, Leeds, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with the funeral service beginning in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama.
