Robert E. Lee

Mr. Lee was born December 1, 1922 in St. Clair County. He served in WWII as a 1st Sergeant in the U. S. Army. He retired from Walker Drug Company after 41 years of service. He resided in Florence, AL for 31 years. He served as a deacon at Highland Baptist Church in Florence, AL and Bethel Baptist Church in Moody. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Lee, parents, six sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace Lee; daughter, Lisa Vajda (Allan); brother, Curtis Lee (Jeannene); grandchildren, Aaron Vajda, Molly Beth Lee, Jessica Lee, Amber Lee, Rob Lee; great grandchildren, Martye, Austin, Gracie and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Lee will lie in state from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM on Monday.
