Theresa Mundi

A strong and resilient woman, Theresa endured a number of illnesses over the last several years and came through each focused on her family and her faith. She was an equally fierce wife, mother and grandmother to a loud, but loving Italian family, and spent her life sharing that faith and family with everyone she met.

Theresa was generous and kind with everything from her recipes, to prayer intentions, a quick Italian phrase and a tight hug and smile for whoever she saw. She will forever be our sunshine.

She is survived by her children, Charles Mundi; Steve Mundi (Karen); Lisa Corona (Sam) and Sarah Coker (Randy); her 11 grandchildren, Tiffany Mundi; Stevie Mundi (Tiffany); Kayla Entrekin (Aaron); Samantha Corona; Luke Corona; Jake Crowder; Caige Mundi; Braylon Mundi; Jacob, Cameron and Hannah Robertson; great-grandson, Kannon Andrews; and her sister, Vera Costa.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl “Buddy” Mundi; her parents, Jake and Sarah Lovoy; her brother Egnatius Lovoy; and daughter-in law, Karen Mundi.

Funeral Services will be Friday, July 7 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Leeds. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 12:40 and the funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds will direct the services.
