

On March 18, 1930, Tommy was born in Pulaski, Tennessee, to Lorean and Arthur Lee Tucker. He grew up in Decatur, Alabama. Upon graduation from Decatur High school, he went to Itawamba Junior College in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he was a fullback on the football team. Tommy was of service, during the Korean War, with the Mississippi National Guard. Tommy finished his college career at Alabama Polytechnical College (Auburn University) in Auburn, Alabama. If anyone ever met Tommy, they knew his alma mater immediately, for he would greet them by saying, War Eagle!
Tommy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan Turner, and their four children, Thomas Owen Tucker, Jr. (Butch) of Breau Bridge La., Nan Troutman of Newnan, Ga., Sandra Tucker of Cullman Al., Suzanne Willis of Albany, Ga.; his grandchildren Tomi-Lauren Tucker, Kathleen and MaryTurner Troutman, Caroline and Jonathan Willis; great-grandchildren Victor and Marella Fay.
