When I think of Vic, I think of a loyal family member who always seemed to be traveling with me, whether in person or in spirit. I am certain she felt the same because I could always count on her to demand a souvenir, be it as simple as a deer horn, turkey feather, or Mardi Gras bead. 

When I think of Vicki, I SMILE because of goofy Christmas pajama photos, sweet cards and messages, a black trans am coming down Flower Street on the way home from Tuscaloosa, dentine gum that maybe sometimes she would share and Blondie singing the Tide is High. I LAUGH because she would let me purposely eat too much cool whip until I puked, her telling me to act like a family Boston Terrier and eat off the airport floor in front of our Mother and Fathers business associates, and her best friend Sheila keeping me alive while Vicki was supposed to be babysitting! I LAUGH A LOT and a big sense of satisfaction comes over me when I think about the time mother, Vicki and I were in a van and we went to a fancy Albertville florist to pick up flowers for Decoration. I climbed over Vicki, who was sitting in the front seat to get out, instead of exiting, as I should have out the door. She shoved me face first onto to pavement and I came up full force to retaliate with my fist. I hit her as hard as I could square in the nose and turned and ran into the florist. I was about 10 years old and she was completely grown. She chased me into the florist. We went round and round like cat and mouse, with mother yelling with us and the florist staff in complete shock! Finally I CRY because I will miss her so, but I feel peace because I know she is where she is where she wanted to be with her savior, walking the streets of gold, hand in hand, NO PAIN, NO CANE, and with perfect legs with her family. 

When I think of Vicki, I think about how she unapologetically lived her life exactly the way she wanted to. I think about how quirky, funny, and full of life she was. I think about her optimistic positivity and how she could find the good in any situation, no matter how awful the situation might be. I think about how lucky I am to have been chosen to be her daughter and how lucky I am to have been loved by her in this lifetime. 

When I think of Vicki, I think of a beautiful, funny, outgoing, cool aunt, that always told me if I ever needed her for anything, she would always be there for me. Two of my fondest memories memories were when Maci and Will were born, I got to stay out of school for a week to go with Mom and Mom Mama to help take care of them. They were like my little live baby dolls! Vicki let me bathe them, wrap them up like little burritos in their blankets and dress them in whatever I wanted. I loved our summers at the lake.  She had a mustang convertible and she let me drive that car all around the campground. I thought I was as cool as her! When Vicki got the news I was being induced to have Brooks there was no doubt that she would be jumping on the family band wagon and heading to Arkansas. She sat with me all day while I was in labor, trying to tell me how to be breathing. I laughed so hard, but I haven't posted one single Facebook post about my little family that she hasn't either loved, or commented on.  She loved Brooskie updates. 

When I think of Vicki, I'm reminded of our parents. She had the loving spirit, compassion and sense of humor of our mom and the QuickDraw, spitfire, strong attitude of our dad when needed.
