Virginia Newton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Virginia Newton, on September 11, 2025 at the age of 73. Virginia devoted her life to her family and touched countless hearts with her kindness, strength, and generosity.

Born on June 24, 1952 in Leeds, Alabama. Virginia grew up with a passion for gardening, saving money and fast cars. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, guidance, and encouragement that shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Virginia was more than a mother — she was a confidant, a mentor, and a friend. Her sense of humor, open heart, and endless patience made every person feel valued and loved. She taught by example, including her infamous “bought lessons”

She is survived by Gina Newton, Leigh Newton Wade, James Lopez, Aaron Wade, Moises Lopez and

her siblings Buck Brasher, Kathy Hubbard, Linda Dodson, Bonnie Cline, with a community of friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory. Virginia was preceded in death by husband Ricky Newton.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on September 18, 2025 at 1-2pm at First Baptist Church of Moody with graveside service at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Our hearts are broken by her passing, but her love and light will guide us always.
