Willie Mae Davis

Mrs. Davis attended Independent Holiness Church of Jefferson Park since 1975. She loved her church family beyond measure and was a great prayer warrior. She loved reading and studying God’s word. Mother always said to be quick to forgive and to be quick to accept forgiveness.

A devoted mother of 11 children and a host of others in her community, she was known to take into her home anyone who needed a hand up. She loved unconditionally and gave unselfishly, whether with uplifting words of encouragement and love of doing all she could to make the lives of others better. She has the respect, love and appreciation from all who knew her and has known her, especially her family. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, Benjamin Praytor, Minnie Lee Alverson, brothers, Elmer Praytor, James Praytor, Jerry Praytor, Benjamin Praytor, sister, Christine Throckmorton. Willie is also predeceased by her sons, Odra Davis Jr., Roger Van Davis, Leroy Davis, Frankie Davis and Charles Odra.

She leaves behind 6 children, 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren she adored: Mary McClendon, Leon Lollie Davis, Irene Davis Stout (Larry), Elizabeth Boyd (Paul), Linda Williams (Carl) and Randy Davis.

Funeral Services will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2PM with burial at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale.
