Eugene Breaud

Funeral services for Eugene Breaud will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Burial will follow in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Alexandria, LA. under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. till 9;00 P.M. in the funeral home.

Mr. Breaud 69 was born in Alexandria, LA. and being a military kid moved with his family to many different bases. He was a graduate of Las Cruces, N.M. High School and at a early age started cooking and serving food to others and before long had his own business servicing food contracts to the United States Post offices in Alexandria and Shreveport Being a legally blind person, he fought for the rights of the blind and was a spokesperson for Randolph-Sheppard Act/Opportunity for the blind in Governmentt Contracts. Through this he bid and won the contract for food service provider at Barksdale Air Force Base and in 2001 his company Breaud Services Inc. won the contract for food service provider for Ft. Polk and moved here and became part of the Leesville/Ft. Polk community. He received many rewards for Excellence and Professionalism in Food Service and was a Avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan and was a member of the Louisiana Association for the blind.

He is survived by his children; Clifford and LIsa Breaud of Sara, MS., David , Lori Breaud of Pollock, LA., Gordon Breaud and Stacey Monk both of Leesville, LA. and Mark Breaud of Tioga, LA. Two Brothers; Steve Breaud of Selma, CA. and Dan Breaud of Hayward, CA. He was grandfather to 9 grand children and 1 great child.
