Daughter of Courtney and Ethel Ruth McCraw (both deceased)

Survived by two sons: Robert Spears (Kaye) and Keith Spears

Three sisters: Gertie “Dale” Fiesel, Sylvia Maxine Cole and Cassie Shelley

Five grandchildren: Joshua Spears, Amanda Spears, Paige Spears, J. R. Spears and Nicki Wilson

Five great-grandchildren: J.J. Sophie, Wendell, Logan and Sky

Numerous nieces and nephews

Mrs. Spears was born in Deridder, Louisiana and lived in many, many places during her lifetime as an army wife to her husband Bob Spears (deceased). She moved back to her hometown of Deridder two years ago. She was employed by the State of Texas for many years as a home care provider for mentally and physically challenged adults. Melba enjoyed a very close relationship with her children, grandchildren and extended family members. She had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone loved her “acid wit”.
