Rachel A. Burnett

Funeral services for Rachel A. Burnett will be at 11:00am on Monday, September 9th, 2013 in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder Louisiana with Reverend Stan Sizemore and Reverend David Lilley officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Burnett, age 85, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 06, 2013 in Longville, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived a life of devotion to God and her family. She was a charter member of Living Faith Fellowship in Ragley. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, garden, quilt, and read. Rachel was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clint Burnett, one daughter Judith Ann Burnett, her parents Francis Farris Piper and Alfred Piper, and one great grandson James Emmett Spikes.

She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Cooley of Singer, LA, Marie DeMary of Longville, LA, Laura Hall of Nikiski, AK, and Irene Gross of Longville, LA; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren.

Friends may join visitation at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder on Sunday, September 8th, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Monday, September 9th, 2013 from 9:00am until time of service.
