Carlos Roberto Provencio

Carlos Roberto Provencio born September 16, 1929, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 15, 2008. Carlos is survived by his wife of fifty years, Elvira Veyna Provencio, his four children, David Provencio, Sara Sanchez, Beatrice Gonzalez, and Yolanda Provencio, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by two sisters, Socorro Tonché and Anna Cortez of El Paso, TX. Born in El Paso, Carlos served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. Carlos was a member of Don Diego VFW Post #7420. He was proud of his service as a civilian federal employee at NAS North Island. "Grandpa" will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation and Vigil will take place on Thursday, August 21st, from 4-7 p.m. at Conrad Mortuary, Lemon Grove, CA, (619) 460-4601. Funeral Mass on Friday, 10:00 a.m. at St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove, CA, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following.
