

Dorothy was born on July 11, 1924, in Topeka, Kansas. During World War II, she attended the Army Corps of Nurses Training at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dorothy married Gilbert Evans, the love of her life on Sept. 6, 1948 in Topeka, Kansas. Dorothy’s life was filled with her family, faith, and love of music. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years.
Dorothy is survived by her ten children: Gil, John, George, Jeanie, Mary Lou, Carol, Steve, Patty, Bob, and Will, and their spouses. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her brothers Edward and Bernard Krische.
Services will be held at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at 8086 Broadway Lemon Grove, CA 91945, on July 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held in the church hall following the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the St. Paul’s Senior Center at 328 Maple Street, San Diego, CA. 92103.
Blessed are those who have died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.
Eternal rest grant unto Dorothy, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
