Gloria Eileen Myers, (known to her friends as Eileen) born October 15, 1926, to her mother Leah Dahlke Brown and Albert Brown, grew up with two sisters and a brother in California. She was married to the love of her life George Myers (1922-2008) for 52 years. She is survived by her brother, Al "Buster" Brown, three children, Kathleen Myers, Karen Bowen, and Robert Prest, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, who all adored her. And still do.
Eileen was a beautiful, curious, stylish, and talented artist who loved music -- she composed original tunes, played the violin in her youth, and loved playing the piano. When she discovered the organ, she never turned back. She loved crafts, sewing, cooking, and crocheting. She was always learning something new; she wasn't shy about jumping on the Internet and researching old friends, recipes, and music lyrics. She enjoyed getting together over the years with family over breakfasts, birthdays, and holidays; her many friends at church and in her neighborhood; and most recently, her doting boyfriend, who made her very happy.
A great listener and a thoughtful conversationalist, Eileen (or Mom or Grandma, as some of us called her) didn't sugarcoat a thing. You could count on her for an honest opinion and a laugh. She treated everyone with respect and open-mindedness. She was loved by all who grew to know her. She will be deeply missed my so many.
