Maria Luz Nuno

Maria de la Luz Nuño, born June 26, 1926, was known to her loved ones as Lucy. She married the love of her life, Pablo Nuño, on September 22, 1945. They walked hand in hand through 61 years of marriage. Through the births of 13 children— 8 daughters and 5 sons— they planted a large crop that began their legacy, their family. The saddest day of Lucy’s life was August 23, 2006 when her Palomito graduated to heaven. She gifted us all with 10 extra years of her presence; she took her time leaving us because she knew we would not take it well and because she still had so much love to give. The loss is huge, but the love she left in the heart’s of those she touched is great; leaving us with the necessary strength to let our own love multiply and be felt as we continue our own lives. We all hope to live with the same light, grace, kindness, acceptance and unconditional love that Lucy did. Lucy, a mom, grandma and friend, leaves behind 12 children and their spouses, 45 grandchildren, and 46 great grandchildren. She will be missed tremendously, but we are all blessed with a new guardian angel. Rest in God’s presence Lucy.
