After a long and full life Mary Alice Hamilton went home to be with Our Lord on July 10, 2013, at the age of 94. She was residing in Perryville, Arkansas at the Perry County Nursing Home where she was cared for with such abundant and tender love for the past 4 years. She was an amazing woman who spent her life giving and caring for others and she will be deeply missed.
She enjoyed being very social, she did volunteering at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego for years, and was very active at her church in Lemon Grove and all of the activities at The Springs retirement apartments in Spring Valley where she lived before moving with her daughter to Perryville. She always joked about volunteering too much and wore her tee-shirt that light heartedly read “Lord put your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth”! But, whenever there was a need for help she would be the first to offer, and loved every minute of it.
She adored her family, they were her passion. She was married to Martin R. Hamilton who passed away in 1984. She had three children, her son Kenneth who passed in 1958, her son David Hamilton and daughter Donna Harney, both of who reside in Arkansas. She is survived by eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She is now in heaven “dancing with the Angels”!
You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to it’s fullest and when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart,...I will be there.
