Bob was born and raised in San Diego, California and followed in his fathers footsteps by becoming a proud member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 29. Bob served many positions while in the Union including President, Business Agent, Labor Relations Committee and as a Caucus & Convention Delegate. Bob never failed to fight for Union principles and the contractual rights of his brother Longshoremen.
In 1978 he and his family moved to Tacoma, Washington after having transferred into ILWU Local 23. While continuing his fight for workers rights Bobs main focus was on giving back to those less fortunate. Bob spearheaded Local 23's Charities Committee and through that committee helped countless individuals and numerous organizations.
His contractual knowledge and giving sprit were invaluable to Local 23. In his spare time Bob found pleasure in creating a park like setting on his 2 acre backyard, traveling with his family, a friendly game of blackjack, outings with old friends and yes an occasional Bud Light. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Kelly and Brad.
After 38 years of service Bob hung up his hook for the last time and retired back to San Diego. His family will never forget his fortitude, determination and courage. Bob leaves behind his wife Joanne, daughter Rebecca, sons Richard and Craig and his incredible grandson Brad. Special thanks to Uncle Alex, Aunts Maggie & Norma, numerous family and friends for all their love and support..we are so grateful. Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Brigitte and granddaughter Kelly whom he now resides with in heaven under the loving mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Bob will be incredibly missed by all that knew and loved him. Let us remember.. absent from the body-present with The Lord.

Blessed are those who have died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.
Eternal rest grant unto Robert, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
