In addition his parents Alan Keith and Carol Campbell Dancy of Granite Falls, he is survived by a daughter, Tesla Nicole Dancy, three brothers, Micah Dancy of Kennewick, Washington, Chris Dancy of North Wilkesboro, NC, Alan Dancy and wife Michelle of Taylorsville, NC and a sister, Cindy Dodson of Morganton, NC.
Obie attended Caldwell County Schools and graduated with honors from South Caldwell High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Communications from Appalachian State University. The happiest day of his life was when his daughter,, Tesla was born on June 26, 2018.
A family led Memorial Service, to honor Obie will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1775 Connelly Springs Road, Lenoir, NC. During the service, if anyone has a memory they would like to share about Obie, there will be time made for them to do so.
