Artie Watts Hawkins

Mrs. Hawkins was the daughter of the late Ray Carlton Watts and Christine Warren Watts of Mooresville. She was retired from Duke Power and a member of the First Baptist Church of Granite Falls.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Dale Hawkins and her son Tony Ray Stephens.

She is also survived by her step-son Mitchell Hawkins and wife Candice of Granite Falls; her step-daughter Donna Hawkins Hoback and husband Tim of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Joan Dalton of Mooresville, Bertha Small and husband Jerry of Belmont and Lynn Cash and husband Dave of Kannapolis; four step-grandchildren, Corey Prince, Chris Prince, Brooke Hawkins and Cias Hawkins.

A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Granite Falls Monday, October 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Bob Evans, Reverend James Hamby and Reverend J.R. Speece officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday October 10, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Carlton Waugh “Butch”, Todd Eric Waugh, Ricky Wayne Small, Craig McDannell, D. R. Cash, Jr., Randy Forsyth and Byron York.
