Billy Joey Joe Thompson Jr

Joey was born in Richwood, WV to Billy Joe Thompson, Sr. and Carolyn Cochran Thompson of Lenoir. He was self-employed and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Zachery Tyler Thompson and Joseph Garrett Thompson, both of Lenoir; two daughters, Tracey Nicole Thompson and Brittany Michelle Thompson, both of Lenoir; a grandchild, Cylen Genwright; sisters, Cindy Thompson Penley and husband Emmitt of Lenoir and Sharon Thompson Blankenship and husband Teryl of Cornelius.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Pendry’s Chapel. The burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Philyaw, Bill Price, Steve Baker, Kurt Welburn, Joel Caldwell and Randy Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Snead and Kenneth Moretz.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
