Boyce Dale Laxton

Mr. Laxton was born December 9, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Faries Laxton and Nora Lee Brookshire Laxton. In addition to his parents, a brother, Rhonda Laxton, preceded him in death.

Boyce was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. He truly enjoyed his family and loved the time he was able to spend with them. He drove a truck for Newton Transportation for over 20 years and worked in the office at Newton Transportation after he retired from driving. He also worked in the Caldwell County Schools as a painter for several years. Boyce was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed riding horses and loved to play golf, hunt and fish. Motorcycles were another passion of his, having traveled across the country 3 times on a motorcycle. He was known to be a real character, full of love and life and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Terry Laxton and wife Cathy of Hickory, daughter, Jena Bentley and husband Larry of Lenoir, grandchildren, Josh Bentley and wife Christine of Mount Ulla, Tyler Laxton of Hickory Jon Hamby of Lenoir, Lauren Bentley of Lenoir and Ian Laxton of Hickory.

Also left to cherish his memory are his great-grandchildren, Brody Lackey, Asher Lackey, Bryson Bentley and Graham Bentley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
