

Tip was born in Caldwell County to the late Charlie Roberts and Cusion Tolbert Roberts. He was retired from Shuford Mills, a proud veteran of the U. S. Army and was well known for his talent as a local musician and banjo player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Roberts, and his second wife, Bula Roberts; his sisters, Daris Caldwell and Pauline Shore; his brothers, Connard West and Coolidge “Woot” West.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kimberly Roberts of Lenoir; his step-daughter, Cathy Caraway of Lenoir; his step-sons, Richard Caraway of Lenoir, Tony Pressley of Catersville, GA and son, Greg McLean and wife Rose of Lenoir; grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Smith, Kelly Dungan, Roger Harrison, Shelley Wedesky and Melissa Rivera and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 in Pendry’s Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Burnette officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
