Cora Elizabeth Tolbert Mooney

Mrs. Mooney was born in Caldwell County to the late William John Tolbert and Dovie Elizabeth Coffey Tolbert. She was retired from the furniture industry and was of the Christian faith. She had a very strong faith in the Lord and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Clifton Jerome Mooney; her brothers, Clifford, Fred and General O.J. Tolbert and her sisters, Dot Craig, Lucille T. Medford and Mae Griffin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dennis Wayne Mooney, Sr. and wife Gracie of Lenoir, William Gary Mooney and wife Linda of Lenoir, and Neil Mooney of Lenoir; her daughters, Wanda Rose Taylor and husband Mike of Statesville, Linda McClure of Whitnel and Patricia Clark of Dudley Shoals; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Pendry’s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
