Daniel was born on May 29, 1942 in Caldwell County to the late Leonard Vance Hood and Bernice Setzer Hood.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Jimmy Hood, Alfred Hood and a sister, Violet Harmon.
Daniel was a master carpenter. He could build anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Mary Lee Greene Hood, sons; Scott Hood and wife Lucinda, Daniel John Hood Jr, Tommy Vance Hood and significant other Amanda Coffey, daughter; Susie Annette Hood Watson and husband David, brother; Joseph Carol Hood, sister; Mildred Smith, grandchildren; David Allen, Danielle Fredell and husband Steven, Jesse Hood and William Daniel.
A graveside service to honor Mr. Hood will be held privately.
