Delia Shore Johnson

Mrs. Johnson was born in Watauga County to the late David H. Shore and Alley Parker Shore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell S. Johnson and a son Russell E. Johnson. She was the owner and operator of a grocery store and during WWII she worked in the machine shop at Langley Field.

Survivors include her son David Johnson and wife Martha of Lynchburg, VA; her daughter Jeannie Denzler and husband Paul of Leesburg, FL; her brother Cecil Shore of Morganton; and very special friend Jennifer Johnson. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home in Lenoir, NC. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, VA.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
