

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife Elaine Townsend and his son David Townsend.
Left to cherish Glenn's memory are his wife Michelle Townsend, his daughter Glenda Keller and his son Ricky Townsend (wife Cindy), his grandchildren Sarah Wenzel-King (husband Adam), Jessica Townsend, Rachel Laney, Rebecca Laney, Tyler Townsend, Aaron Townsend, Lindsey Bentley (husband David), Jacob Woodard, Cheyenne Mitchell, and Raven Mitchell, his great-grandchildren Luna Martinez, Michael Wenzel-King, and Lucas Bentley, his siblings Ethel Wallin, Robert Townsend (wife Margaret), Denver Townsend, and Margaret Bryan (husband Glen), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn loved hunting, camping, gardening, landscaping, and traveling. He was an avid outdoorsman. Glenn will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd., Lenoir, NC 28645.
A funeral will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 1525 Clarks Creek Rd, Banner Elk, NC 28604, officiated by Pastor Randy Rothchild. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler and Aaron Townsend, Bobby Townsend, Adam Wenzel-King, Caleb Hamby, and David Bentley. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Wenzel-King, Lucas Bentley, and Jacob Woodard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cemetery Fund at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 1525 Clarks Creek Rd, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
