Mr. Parsons was born July 28, 1973 in Caldwell County to Julia Reese Parsons and the late Harold V. Parsons.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Vestina Parsons, both sets of grandparents, an uncle, Faris Reese, and an aunt, Joyce Crowe.
He is survived by his mother, Julia Parsons Fox of Lenoir, half-brother, Joshua Parsons of Greenville, NC and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special employees, which he dearly loved.
Kelly, as he was known to his family, grew up in Rocky Mount North Carolina and attended Nash County, North Carolina Schools. He was a leader in almost everything he undertook. During his high school years, he was Class President one year and Student Body President during his senior year. He was also Captain of the tennis team, swimming team and ROTC. He enjoyed piloting planes since he was seventeen years old. He was named North Carolina Student of the Year in High School. His college years were spent at UNC, Charlotte, where he made many memories with special frat brothers that he cherished all his life. He also enjoyed Karate, earning his black belt early in High School.
After college, he worked in the family pallet business, Parsons Woodworking in Rocky Mount, NC. Later, the family business moved to Lenoir, NC. A new business, H. Parsons, Inc. was established and he worked with his father until his father passed in 2013. At that time, he took over running the family business and expanding it into a much larger production facility.
The family will receive friends Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am with funeral services at 11:00 am at Pendry's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Barlow, Todd Reese, Rick Harris, Randy Robins, Juan Robles and David Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Vergara, Bill Kibbe, Bryan King, Andrew Kaiser, Brian Teague and the brothers of the KAPPA SIGMA FRATERNITY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hibriten Boosters (Wrestling) or the Shelter Home of Lenoir.
