Hellen Louise Poole

Mrs. Hellen Louise Flowers Poole, age 84, of Granite Falls, North Carolina entered into the gates of Heaven and into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Hellen was born in Caldwell County on September 24, 1938 to the late Landon Reid and Eva Flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Beane, Evelyn Curtis and Pearl Childers.

Hellen was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lenoir, she retired from the Caldwell County Health Department as a Health Educator and held a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services. Hellen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was much loved by all of her family. She was a master gardener and was very proud of all the different nuts, fruits and plants she grew on her beloved Poole 'Plant'ation.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 66 1/2 years, Clyde Poole of the home, a son, Charles Poole of Granite Falls, Janelle Cook and husband Gary of Casar, a foster-daughter, Peggy Silver of Valdese, and other foster children, sisters, Carolyn Walker of Lenoir and Ruby Fite of Granite Falls, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss Hellen greatly.

A Celebration to honor the life of Mrs. Poole will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Craven, Rev. Jeff Lambert and Rev. Daniel Buchanan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm at the church.
