Mr. Horace Leonard Marley, 82, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Mr. Marley was born July 5, 1940 in Wilkes County to the late Roy and Virginia Hamby Marley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes Lucille Blackburn Marley, a sister, Reba Marley and a brother Allan Marley.
Mr. Marley loved to sing gospel music and could be found on many days, singing gospel music with friends at McDonalds or Hardees in Lenoir. He was employed as a furniture inspector for over 40 years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Edith Lail Marley, a son, Rickey Marley and girlfriend Kathryn Brock, daughters, Brenda Kay Marley, Sandra Starnes, grandchildren, Brittany Coffey, Agnes Coffey, Hannah Strayer and Zack Starnes along with five great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service to honor Horace will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Minton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
