Jean Philyaw

Jean was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a member of Flemings Chapel Baptist Church. One of her favorite things to do was to sit on the porch in her rocking chair and watch the birds and squirrels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Everett Philyaw and a brother, Elmer Kincaid.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Charles “Chuck” Philyaw of Lenoir, Richard Keith Philyaw of Lenoir, Gregory Phillip Philyaw and wife Angie of Hudson, a brother, Danny Kincaid of Gamewell, sisters, Betty Blankenship, Janet Pritchard and Joan Hendrix. Also left to cherish her memory are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Philyaw will be held privately. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Burial will take place at the Philyaw Family Cemetery.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
