Mrs. Suitt was born May 30, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Mr. Arnie Lipford and Mrs. Grace Horton Lipford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Suitt Jr, brothers, Durant Lipford, Edward Lipford, sister, Juristine Abernathy, infant sister, Trisha Lipford, brothers-in-law, step mother, Mary Eliza Lipford, Billy Michaux and Robert Abernathy.
Mrs. Suitt was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Long Island. Mrs. Suitt earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Adelphi University, her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Columbia University and served as the Administrator of Nursing at Duke University Hospital. Jeanette was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was the backbone of the family and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Charles Michael Suitt of Englewood, NJ, daughter, L-Tanya Suitt of Lenoir, daughter-in-law, Brandi Simpkins of Englewood, NJ, four grandchildren, Charlotte, Miles, Zion, Xavier Suitt of Englewood, NJ, a great-grandchild, Skyla Suitt of New Jersey, a sister, Jerlene Michaux of Lenoir, sisters-in-law, Marietta Lipford of Lenoir, Loraine Anderson of New Jersey, godchildren, William Black, Regine Tuggle, Karlina Tuggle, Brandy Jennings, and a special caregiver, Gwendolyn Lytle of Lenoir.
Also left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Suitt will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Reginald Tuggle officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
Following the service, burial will take place at Belleview Cemetery in Lenoir with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
