

Mr. Haas was born in Caldwell County to the late Dwight Christie Haas and Pansy Tolbert Haas. He was a self-employed maintenance worker, a proud veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. He loved to play music on his guitar and sing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail Frances Lowman Haas of the home; his son, Rick Haas of Hickory; his daughter, Kim Ramsey and husband Kevin of Conover; his brother Bob Haas of Lenoir; two grand-daughters, Katie and Kara. Jerry will also be missed by his faithful dog, Chewy.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Evans and Reverend Caren Morgan officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Tolbert, Ernie Cline, Junior Goforth, Gene Crunkleton, Jerry Lowman and Kevin Ramsey.
