

Mrs. Cook was born in Watauga County to the late Franklin Ellis and Mary Lou Dennis Church. She was a retired sales clerk with Smithey’s Store and a member of Abington Road Baptist Church where she loved doing the John’s and Roman’s Ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Cook; sons, Charles, Dallas and Bobby Cook; brothers, Hardis and Bernard Church; a granddaughter, Donna Coffey and a grandson, Mark Clark.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Cook of Hildebran; daughters, Louise Clark of Lenoir, Mrs. Raymond (Iris) Coffey of Hudson, Mrs. Wayne (Peggy) Wilkie of Hudson and Mrs. Tony (Norma) Alexander of Wingate; a sister, Vivian McLean of Essex, MD; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Raymond Coffey, Reverend Ed Warren, Reverend Van Profitt officiating and Adam Hardin speaking. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Warren, Charles Wayne Cook, Michael Wilkie, Greg Cook, Dallas Wayne Cook and Robert Gallagher.
