John Lee Wright

Mr. Wright was born August 4, 1947 in Burke County to the late Ruby Mae Wright Pickens. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Willie Elizabeth Morris and an uncle, Andrew Wright.

Mr. Wright retired from Broughton Hospital in Morganton where he worked as a healthcare technician. He also served as a deacon at People Tabernacle, served on the Lake James Volunteer Fire Department and served as a first responder. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Angela Gibbs Wright of the home, sons, Carlos Gibbs and Cortez Gibbs of Lenoir, daughters, Mariah Wright of the home, Catherine Davis and husband Samuel of Lenoir, Tamara Wright-Maharaj of Huntsville, Alabama, Tonya Garris and husband Eric of Fayetteville, Tosha Kissler and husband Auntwan of Hickory, grandchildren, Tania Wright, Jae Wright and Briana Williams and husband Terrell all of Huntsville, Alabama, Tavia Garris of Atlanta, GA, Zamar Garris of Fayetteville, Kendra Greene, Deja Gibbs, Hailey Gibbs all of Lenoir and Andrea Smith of Concord.

Services for Mr. Wright will be held privately.
