Josephine Parsons Hollis

Mrs. Hollis was born, August 21, 1936 in Watauga County, NC to the late Joseph Spencer and Alice Davis Parsons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Julia Ann Rash, Susan Jeanette Hollis; and two sisters, Lucy Bryant and Annie Elrod.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-four and one half years, John Walter Hollis of the home, two sons, Tony Hollis and wife Melissa, Tim Walker; two daughters, Joyce Waterman and husband Wayne, Jean Walker; one sister, Ruth Hollis and husband Arthur; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Hollis will be held Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Shelly Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Nelson’s Chapel Baptist Church on Kirby Mountain Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
