Kelly Buck Cannon

Kelly Buck Cannon, 71 of Granite Falls passed away peacefully Saturday, April 16, 2011 with his family by his side at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care

Mr. Cannon was born September 16, 1939 in Lenoir to the late Roby Lee and China Roxie Walker-Cannon. He was also preceded in death by 6 siblings, Opal Ritch, Bill, William, Robert, Roby Jr. and Jack Cannon.

Mr. Cannon attended Whitnel Schools and was a United States Veteran in the Army. He made his living as a carpenter. Buck had a warm heart and never met a stranger.

He leaves behind his two daughters; Christine Whitlock and husband Paul of Memphis Tennessee and Tammy Bowie and husband Jeff of Statesville. He never had any sons but had two very special nephews, Rickie Cannon and Randy Cannon. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren who made his eyes light up, Tyler, Jayden, Taylor and Shelby and 2 step grandchildren, Tommy and Summer. He is also survived by his 3 sisters; Sara Curtis with which he made his home with, Sally Cannon and Lynn Greene. He had a great number of nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Rickie and Nancy Cannon at 3:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2011.
