In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father Dempsey Perkins, who was very present in her life.
Left to cherish Kriss's memory are her devoted husband of 26 years Greg Smith of Lenoir; her children Forest Smith of Arvada, CO, and Melisa Hall (husband John) of Granite Falls; grandchildren Alexis Smith of Lenoir, Autumn Wallace of Lenoir, Cheyenne Wallace of Granite Falls, and Jaxon Smith of Arvada, CO; great-grandchild Lilliana Smith of Lenoir; her brothers Randy Goodell of Phoenix, AZ, and Ronald Goodell of Boise, ID; and her sister Wendy Caverly of Palmer, AK.
Kriss was a graduate of Kent State University. She loved traveling, listening to bluegrass, watching baseball, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was full of life and lived every moment to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
