Lindsay Addison Blair

Mr. Blair was born in Chatham, VA. on October 8, 1929 to late Hurt and Ellen Easley Blair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McMillan Blair, who passed away February 8, 2010.

He played baseball for and graduated from Virginia Tech and served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Blair retired from Nu-Woods, Western Carolina Tire, Firestone, and owned Blair Oil Company. He also taught school. Mr. Blair was an avid golfer and was a lifetime member of Lenoir Golf Course. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Lindsay Dean Blair and friend, Danielle Street of Lenoir, NC, Stephen Michael Blair and wife Mary Beth of Peachtree City, GA, David Malcolm Blair and wife Stacy of Hickory, NC; one daughter, Elizabeth Blair Stalnaker and husband Bobby of Granite Falls, NC; three sisters, Patsy Patterson, Dorothy Blair and Peggy Hackler and husband Bob; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Blair will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Yadkin Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service at Yadkin Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lenoir Golf Course.
