Loretta Gail Puckett

Loretta Gail Thompson Puckett, 78, of Hudson passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at College Pines. Ms. Puckett was born March 10, 1943 in Avery County to the late Lora Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

Gail retired from the Caldwell County Schools where she worked as a bus driver for over 20 years. She lived a simple life and enjoyed being home more than anywhere else.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Sandra Childers and husband Michael of Hudson, Susan Cornett and husband Kyle of Lenoir, Sarah Puckett of Lenoir, Sheila Hemby and husband Thomas of Clayton, a son: Aaron Carlton of Lenoir, honorary daughter: Kimberly Mauney, a sister, Barbara Griffin of Rhodhiss. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Ashley Smith, Cody and Daniel Cornett, Luke and Josiah Norris, Tristan and Lillie Hemby, Alex Carlton, Avery Annas, great grandchildren: Maya and Skyland Lipscomb.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. All other services will be held privately.
