Margaret Louise Gray

Margaret Louise Gray, 76, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

Mrs. Gray was born in Caldwell County, July 31, 1934, to the late Felix Perry and Myrtle Smith Cannon. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Cannon.

Mrs. Gray graduated from Hudson High School in 1952. She was married to her husband, Melvin for 54 years and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Gray was a book keeper and dedicated employee of Triplett’s Furniture Fashions for eighteen years.

Survivors include her husband Melvin J. Gray of the home; two sons, Jeff J. Gray and wife Meldonna of Clarmont, NC, Teddy O. Gray of Lenoir, NC; one daughter, Jennifer Moore and husband Keith of Lenoir, NC; stepmother Peggy Arnett of Lenoir, NC; eight brothers, Felix (Jake) Cannon and wife Rachel, Bruce Cannon and wife Martha, Rex Cannon and wife Shirley, all of Baton, Jerold Cannon and wife Sheila of Lenoir, NC, Wayne Cannon and wife Delores of Boone, NC, Troy Cannon and wife Berendene of Hudson, NC, Terry Cannon of Lenoir, NC, and Timmy Cannon and wife Tina of Lenoir, NC; four sisters, Phyllis Amos of Roanoke, VA, Joann Gray and husband Don of Baton, Kaye Woods of Winston Salem,NC, and Penny Triplett and husband Roger of Lenoir, NC; five grandchildren, Erica Elizabeth Moore, Kendele Lauren Moore, Alex and Matt Gray, Sonya Townsend; three great grandchildren, Beth and Mike Ward, and Connor Townsend.

A funeral service is planned for Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Baton Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Parker and Reverend John Green officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gray, Teddy Gray, Alex Gray, Matt Gray, Donald Gray and Ronald Gray.
