

Mrs. Howell was born in Caldwell County to the late Lloyd Suddreth and Viola Brookshire Suddreth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Suddreth. She worked as a secretary at Kings Creek School and was a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church. She was a Kings Creek School Alumni and a homemaker. Her hobbies were sewing, knitting, quilting and other crafts.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Edgar Hartley Howell; her sons, Lloyd Howell and wife Deborah of Lenoir and Marvin Howell of Zebulon; her daughter, Sara Howell Hartzog and husband Mark of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Lara Lynn Howell Cook of Chesapeake, VA and Grandin Howell and wife Shanee of Winston-Salem, NC; a great-grandchild, Kadin Cook of Chesapeake, VA; her sister, Mary Isaac and husband Lewis of Lenoir; her sister-in-law, Jan Suddreth of Lenoir, a special friend, Dwain Driver, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Randy Goode officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
