Miss Corpening was born May 2, 1935 in Caldwell County to the late Linwood E. Corpening and Elizabeth C. "Jade" Corpening. She was retired from Morganton Chair Company where she was office manager. She was a member of Gamewell Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers John Kelly Corpening, Moore Mason Corpening, and James Linwood Corpening.
Survivors include nephews Mason Kelly Corpening of Lenoir, Kelly Dwayne Corpening and Robbie Corpening of Georgia and niece Aleesa Talmadge of Georgia, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 3418 Clarks Chapel Road, Lenoir, NC 28645, officiated by Pastor Walter Lundy and Dr. Steve Parker.
