Mrs. Harbison was retired from Bernhardt furniture with over 25 years of service. She was a member of Harpertown United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir and mother of the year.
Mrs. Harbison was born August 13, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Ralph Henry Patterson and Annie Horton Patterson. She is also preceded in death by her husband Charles Alexander Harbison, three brothers; Herman Lee Patterson, Louis Patterson and Joe Benny Patterson, four sisters; Frances Patterson, Shirley Banner, Barbara Patterson and Myrtle Patterson.
Mrs. Harbison is survived by her son Calvin Harbison of Lenoir, five daughters; Sandra Patterson Dula , Freida Evan Harbison, Myra Lynne Harbison, Jean Allen Patterson, Deloris Scroggins all of Lenoir, two sisters; Elizabeth Ann Patterson of Lenoir and Ruth Evelyn Corpening of Black Mountain, one brother; Willie Patterson and wife Katherine of Lenoir, one uncle Eugene Horton of Lenoir, one godson; Herman Lee Patterson, Jr. of Lenoir, fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harbison will be 3:00pm Thursday , January 12, 2012 at Harpers Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverends Alvin Brown, Venoy E. Pearson, Miller Carter and James Wilfong officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 -3:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
